FairfieldLori A. WELCH, 56, of East Moline, Ill., died Sunday, April 19, 2020, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Ill.
She was born May 26, 1963, in Fairfield, Iowa, to Leroy and Phyllis PAXSON ROBISON. She graduated from Pekin High School in 1981, attended the University of Iowa and completed her education degree at Marycrest College. She married John "Jack" WELCH on Oct. 9, 1992, in Las Vegas, Nev.
Lori was a teacher for many of her local schools including Sherrard, Rock Island (where she helped start year-round school program), Willard in Moline and Lincoln Irving.
She was a member of Gilda's Club. Lori loved flowers and music.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Justin WELCH of Moline, Ill., and Cody (Christa) WELCH of Coal Valley, Ill.; one grandchild lovingly expected; parents, Leroy and Phyllis ROBISON of Richland; brother, Doug (Melissa) ROBISON of Richland; mother-in-law, Jean WELCH of Rock Island; special friend, Ann Cutts of Georgia; niece, Hannah (Stratton) BOND of Richland; nephew, Derek (Hannah) ROBISON of Cantril; and many more nieces and nephews.
Lori was preceded in death by an infant son, Lucas; sisters-in-law, Marlene WELCH, Deborah and Mary; and father-in-law, John WELCH.
Due to social distancing requirements, no visitation will be held. However, friends and family may pay respects from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 23, at Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo, Ill. One vehicle will be allowed entry at a time. The family will not be present. A graveside service will be held at a later date.
Memorials to OSF St. Francis Medical Center or Gilda's Club may be mailed to the family at 428 34th Ave., East Moline, IL 61244. Area condolences may be mailed to Leroy and Phyllis ROBISON, P.O. Box 217, Richland, IA 52585. Online condolences can be made at www.fippingerfuneralhome.com.
