Mrs. ATHERTON Taken In Death

Mrs. Effie Mae ATHERTON, 74, 901 South Second St., died Thursday at 8:55 p.m. at the Jefferson County Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at the First Christian church in charge of the Rev. Ned Gillum. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. The body will be taken from the Raymond Funeral home to the church at 1 p.m.

Mrs. ATHERTON was born and reared in Jefferson county. The daughter of William M. and Cora McMULLEN CROWNER, she was born Dec. 9, 1889. She was married to G. H. ATHERTON Oct. 4, 1911. Her husband, a former Fairfield chief of police, preceded her in death Sept. 27, 1961.

Mrs. ATHERTON was a member of the Christian church. She is survived by two sisters and one brother: Mrs. Frank BRUEY and Mrs. June ANDERS, both of Fairfield; and John CROWNER, Lockridge. An aunt, Mrs. Effie MIRANDA, Birmingham, also survives.

Jefferson County ss.

To All Whom It May Concern:

You Are Hereby Notified, That an instrument of writing purporting to the be the last Will and Testament of Effie Mae ATHERTON, deceased, dated April 3, 1962 having been this day filed, opened and read, Friday the 4th day of September 1964, is fixed for hearing proof of same at the Court House in Fairfield, Iowa, before the District Court of said County, or the Clerk of said Court; and at 9:30 o'clock a.m. of the day above mentioned all persons interested are hereby notified and require to appear, and show cause if any they have, why said instrument should not be probated and allowed as and for the last Will and Testament of said deceased.
