LOCALS

… --Channing ARMSTRONG of New Hampton and Mrs. Joe WHITLOCK of Manhattan, Kan. have been here the past week, called by the serious illness and death of their mother Mrs. Ella ARMSTRONG. Another son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Robert ARMSTRONG of Richmond, Calif, arrived this morning. It has not been learned whether another son, Charles ARMSTRONG, of Denver, Colo., will be able to come for the services.

OBITUARY

ELLA PATTERSON ARMSTRONG

Ella PATTERSON ARMSTRONG, the daughter of John and Emma FAWCETT PATTERSON, was born in Brookville, Iowa, on May 9, 1866, and passed away on August 21, 1944 at the Jefferson county hospital in Fairfield.

She was the last of a family of ten children being preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and five brothers.

On February 26, 1899 she was united in marriage to James Edwin ARMSTRONG, who also preceded her in death. To this union were born four children, all of whom survive their parents. The children are: Channing of New Hampton, Ia.; Charles of Denvere (sic), Colo.; Mrs. Joe WHITLOCK of Manhattan, Kansas; and Robert of Richmond, Calif.

Mrs. ARMSTRONG is also survived by seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at the Weston Behner funeral home in Fairfield at 2:00 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, August 22, with the Rev. A. P. Keast in charge.

Music was furnished by Mrs. Dillon Lowell accompanied by Mrs. E. G. Linder.

Pallbearers were; R. J. Ireland, Ray Patterson, Frank Terrell, Grant Nelson, Otis Kinze and W. C. Hoswell.

ADMINISTRATRIX'S NOTICE

Public Notice is Hereby Given:

That the undersigned has this day been appointed and commissioned by the District Court of Jefferson County, in the Sate of Iowa, administratrix of the estate of Ella ARMSTRONG, Deceased.

All persons having claims against said estate are hereby notified to file them with the Clerk of said court, clearly stated and duly sworn to, and within legal time, preparatory to their being allowed or proved, and persons owing said estate are requested to make immediate payment to the undersigned and avoid costs.

Dated at Fairfield, Iowa, this 22nd day of August, A. M., 1944.
