Page 8, Column 4Illness Fatal To Mrs. ARMSTRONG
Mrs. Clara Elizabeth ARMSTRONG, 68, Jefferson county farmwife, died early this morning at the Jefferson County hospital where she had been a patient since Wednesday.
Mrs. ARMSTRONG resided on a farm four miles northwest of Fairfield. She had been in failing health for several years and seriously ill for five days.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Hoskins Funeral home in charge of the Rev. S. P. Williamson. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
Mrs. ARMSTRONG was born April 24, 1885 in Fulton county, Ill., the son (sic) of David and Amanda CROWNOVER WOLETT. She was reared in that community and attended business college at Burlington.
She was married to Albert ARMSTRONG at Galesburg, Ill., Dec. 1, 1910. Survivors include her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Katherin DAVIS, Fairfield, and one grandson. One brother, Harry WOLETT, Chariton, also survives. An infant daughter preceded her in death.

Sixteen neighbors and friends gathered at the Albert ARMSTRONG farm northwest of Fairfield last week to pick and crib 10 acres of corn for Mr. ARMSTRONG whose wife passed away just recently.
Using six pickers, the men completed the job within a short time.
Those taking part in the good neighbor deed include Charles Cochran, Ben Murphy, Kenneth Emmack, Hugh Emery, Glen Leathers, William Booth, Blake Elmaker, Charles Barrow, Bernard Teeter, William Leathers, Don Angstead, Carl Booth, Ed Neiswanger, Lester Zackmeyer, Paul Zackmeyer and Oliver Holderness.
