Up to Twelve Years Ago Was Life Resident of Jefferson CountyJames ALLENDER, for may years a resident of Jefferson county, died at his home four miles east of Birmingham, at 10:30 o'clock last night. The funeral services will be held from the home Thursday at 1 o'clock with Rev. C. L. Tennant conducting(.) The interment in the Evergreen cemetery of Fairfield.
Mr. ALLENDER has been in ill health for some years, suffering from attacks of heart trouble. He was born and reared in Jefferson county, and lived here, up to about twelve years ago when he moved his family to Van Buren county. He is survived by his wife, and three children, Mrs. Nellie CAMPBELL of Fairfield, and Verne and May at home.

Announcement is made of the death of James ALLENDER at his home east of Birmingham last Monday. Mr. ALLENDER was a resident of this county for many years. The body will be brought to this city for burial following funeral services at the home today.

J. H. ALLENDER
James H. ALLENDER, son of Samuel and Eliza ALLENDER, was born 8 miles east of Fairfield, Jefferson county, November 25, 1852 and died at his home 3 miles east of Birmingham, Iowa, Jan. 16, 1922, at the age of 69 years, 1 month and 22 days.
He was united in marriage to Frances A. COCHRAN, Feb. 6, 1879. To this union were born five children, Mrs. Ray CAMPBELL of Fairfield, Ia., Mae Elizabeth and Verne H., at home and two died in infancy.
He leaves besides his wife and children, two brothers, Emery of Parma, Idaho and William of Fairfield, and two grand-children, James Allender CAMPBELL and Mary Frances CAMPBELL.
He was one of six children, Mrs. Mary WALTERS, Mrs. Anna COCHRAN and Knox ALLENDER having preceded him in death.
Having spent most of his life in Jefferson county, until nineteen years ago when he moved to his late home in Van Buren county.
Funeral services were held from the home conducted by Dr. Tennant of Fairfield and Rev. Buell of Birmingham. Interment was made in Evergreen cemetery at Fairfield. His death came very suddenly, although not unexpected, as he had been an invalid for the last year.

James H. ALLENDER was the son of Samuel and Elizabeth ALLENDER. He was born November 25, 1852, in Jefferson county, Iowa, and died Jan. 16, 1922, at the age of 69 years.
February 6th, 1879 he was married to Frances COCHRAN, three children were born to this union, M ay (sic) E. and Vernon at home and Nellie F. CAMPBELL of Fairfield. He was a Christian and liberal in church activities and died in Christian faith. He leaves his wife, three children, two grandchildren and two brothers. The funeral services were held at the home Thursday afternoon Jan. 19th in charge of Dr. C. L. Tennant of Fairfield and Rev. Buell of Birmingham, burial in the Evergreen cemetery at Fairfield.

James H. ALLENDER was born in Jefferson county, Iowa, Nov. 25, 1852, and died at Birmingham, Iowa, Jan. 16, 1922, aged 69 years. Feb. 6, 1879, he was married to Frances A. COCHRAN of Jefferson county where they resided until eighteen years ago when they moved on a farm three miles east of Birmingham.
He was reared by Christian parents and lived and died in that faith.
He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, three children, May E. and Vernon at home and Nellie F. CAMPBELL of Fairfield, two grandchildren, James A. and Mary Francis CAMPBELL besides other relatives and a host of neighbors and friends.
The funeral services was held (sic) at the home Feb. 19, in charge of Rev. C. L. Tenant of Fairfield and assisted by Rev. W. E. Buell of Birmingham and interment in the Evergreen cemetery at Fairfield.
