FAIRFIELD -- Gertrude May ALLENDER, retired music teacher, died at 12:30 a.m. Apr. 16 and the Crawford music (sic - nursing?) home. She was 82 years old and had been a patient at the nursing home for the last two months.
A resident of Jefferson county, Miss ALLENDER was born near Salina on May 3, 1872, the daughter of Jacob H. and Adaline TEMPLETON ALLENDER. She was the last of a family of eight children, two brothers and five sisters having died previously. The only survivor is a nephew, M. M. ALLENDER, Omaha, Neb.
Last rties (sic) will be held at the Weston Behner funeral home at 2 p.m. Monday. The Rev. S. P. Williamson, pastor of First Christian church, will officiate, after which the body will be creamated (sic) and the ashes buried in Evergreen cemetery.
The body will be at the funeral home Sunday and Monday morning.
