ALLENDER Rites Will Be Tuesday

Mrs. Alberta ALLENDER, 83, former longtime resident of Fairfield, died Saturday morning at the Crestview Nursing Home in West Branch (note: in Cedar and Johnson Co., IA).

Last rites will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Weston Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. E. Wayne Ryan officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Mrs. ALLENDER lived in the Fairfield Community most all of her life with the exception of the past 14 years during which she lived in Florida and Iowa City.

She was a clerk at the Fair Store in Fairfield for a number of years and was also employed at Rockwoods before her retirement. She is a member of the First United Presbyterian Church.

Alberta ALLENDER was born Aug. 6, 1886, in Jewell County, Kansas, the daughter of Harrison and Sarah WOODSIDE HOAGLAND. She was married to Edgar L. ALLENDER July 10, 1919. He died May 9, 1968.

Mrs. ALLENDER is survived by one son, Charles L. ALLENDER, Iowa City and three grandsons. She was preceded in death by three sisters.
