Kenneth F. ADKISSON, long-time resident of Fairfield and Jefferson county and past-president of the Jefferson county Farm Bureau, died about 7:55 p.m. Monday at the Jefferson county hospital.
He had been in failing health the past three years and seriously ill the past five days. He was taken to the hospital Friday from his home at 505 S. Third.
Last rites will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Lutheran church with the Rev. A. P. Becker, Mt. Pleasant, and the Rev. James Postel, Ottumwa, in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. The body is at the Raymond funeral home. The casket will not be opened at the church.
Kenneth Franklin ADKISSON, 64, was born Oct. 10, 1898, at Industry, Ill., the son of Thomas and Katie WHEAT ADKISSON. He was reared and educated in the Libertyville and Fairfield public schools, and was married Feb. 8, 1928, at Bethany, Mo., to Kathryn TIMMINS who survives.
He had lived in Jefferson county early all his life and operated a farm near Libertyville for some time. He had been a resident of Fairfield for the past 12 years. ADKISSON served as president of the Farm Bureau and was a member of the Junior Ag show board for a number of years.
He was a member of the Masonic lodge, American Legion having serving in the armed forces during World War I. He was a retired employe of the International Harvester company, and a member of St. Peter's Episcopal church.
In addition to his wife he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Thomas ROWE, Des Moines; one sister, Mrs. Owen LINDER, Mason City; and a brother, Joseph ADKISSON, Council Bluffs. He was preceded in death by his parents.
