… Mrs. Eli REITER, 601 W. Adams street, who was transferred from the Jefferson county hospital to the University hospital in Iowa City Tuesday, underwent an operation there this afternoon. Her husband and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Tusing of Selma drove to Iowa City this morning to be with her. Dale Anderson and W. Ed Campbell drove to Selma for Mr. and Mrs. Tusing, who were overnight guests in the REITER home. …

DEATH TAKES MRS. REITER

Mrs. Eli REITER, 61, long-time resident of this community, passed away at 1:30 a.m. today at the University hospital in Iowa City (note: in Johnson Co., IA). She had been seriously ill for the past 25 weeks.

Mrs. REITER had been a resident of this community for over 40 years. Previous to that she had lived near Oskaloosa.

She is survived by her husband and two sisters, Mrs. Bertis RILEY, Benton, Washington; and Mrs. Josephine ROSS, Oskaloosa. She was preceded in death by one brother.

The body is at the Weston Behner funeral home where last rites are pending.

Rites Sunday For Mrs. Eli REITER

Funeral services will be Sunday for Mrs. Eli REITER, well known Fairfield resident who died Thursday at the University hospital in Iowa City.

The services will be at 2 p.m. at the Weston Behner funeral home with Rev. S. P. Williamson in charge. Burial will be in Wright cemetery southeast of Fairfield.

Members of the Knights of Pythias will serve as pallbearers.
