DIED.

HUMPHREYS--At her father's residence, in Jefferson county, Iowa, Aug. 4, 1876, Rachel HUMPHREYS, in the 22d year of her age (sic - age 16).

Deceased has suffered severely since last March, manifesting all the patience of a Christian, and died in hope. She was much esteemed as a member of the Christian Church of this city, honored and respected by a large circle of relatives and friends, who attended her funeral last Sunday from her father's residence, Elder Hedrix officiating. The sorrowing family have the sympathy of many in this trying hour of affliction.
