DEATHS.

Jarus Gard FRY

Jarus Gard FRY was born in Jefferson county January 15, 1845, and departed this life on Tuesday, Nov. 25, 1909, the greater part of his life having been spent in this vicinity, where he had won the friendship and esteem of all who came in touch with him. A life long Chrisian (sic) and faithful worker in the church, his ennobling influence was felt throughout the circle of his acquaintance, and he will be greatly missed by the community. Three children were born to him by a former marriage, two boys and a girl, and to a second marriage were born two girls and one boy. All of the children are living.

Funeral services were held at the Wortes (sic - Wooster) church, conducted by Rev. W. E. Burdine, who took for the foundation of his sermon the comforting words found in Psalms 30-5, "Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning." There was a large attendance, the house being filled with neighbors and friends, who came to drop a tear of sympathy with the brother and children who are left to grieve for him who has gone home. The body was laid to rest in the little cemetery west of Wortes.
