FICKEL RITES HELD YESTERDAY AFTERNOON

The last rites for Mrs. May PARSONS FICKEL was held from the home Friday at 2 p.m., conducted by Rev. Sears Thomson of Ottumwa, who was the minister that had less than two short years ago joined her marriage to the husband who can now sit and ponder, why oh! why was she taken. The minister paid a touching tribute to her young life. His sermon was taken from John 14 chapter, "Let not your heart be troubled."

The Mesdames Ralph Stout, Alec Smith and Guy Fry and the Messrs Ernest Johnson, Guy Fry and Glenn Grant very sweetly sang, "Going Down the Valley," "Gathering Home" and "Asleep in Jesus," with Miss Clara Fry at the piano. The many beautiful floral tributes were but silent token of the esteem of her friends. Messrs. Earl FICKEL, Clarence Tracht, Glen Grant, Guy Fry, Ralph Stout and Hubert Fry all boyhood friends of May were the pallbearers. She was tenderly laid to rest in the Wright cemetery.
