Gladys M. CROWE

Gladys M. CROWE, 92, former Fairfield resident, died at 1:40 a.m. today, Thursday, Dec. 30, 1993, at Leon Care Center in Leon (note: in Decatur Co., IA).

The service tentatively is set for Monday afternoon at Raymond Funeral Home, with burial in Wright Cemetery southeast of Fairfield.

She married Theodore T. CROWE, who died Feb. 3, 1981. Surviving is a daughter, Leona WILLIAMS of Humeston.

Gladys M. CROWE

The service for Gladys M. CROWE, 92, of Leon Care Center in Leon, who died there at 1:40 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, 1993, will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Raymond Funeral Home. Burial will be in Wright Cemetery southeast of Fairfield. Family visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to the Leon Assembly of God.

Mrs. CROWE was born Aug. 16, 1901, in Salina, the daughter of Albert and Anna JOHNSON OLSON. She lived in Albia and Fairfield before marrying Theodore "Ted" CROWE on June 24, 1924, in Fairfield. They lived in Silvis, Ill., until his death Feb. 3, 1981, at which time she returned to Iowa. A homemaker, she cared for elderly and disabled persons. Her favorite pastimes were gardening, sewing, and taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are a daughter, Leona WILLIAMS of Humeston; two granddaughters; seven great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. A son, William Andrew; six sisters, Mabel OLSON, Hazel KELLER, Esther COX, Elsie McINTIRE, Frances CREW, Edith BABCOCK; and a grandson preceded her in death.
