BIRMINGHAM, Ia. - Mrs. Tilman GRIMES, long-time resident of the Bethel community north of Birmingham, died suddenly about 2:15 p.m. Sunday at the Jefferson county hospital in Fairfield where she had been a patient the past three days.
She had been in failing health the past six months. Her death was caused by a heart ailment.
Last rites will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Weston Behner funeral home in Fairfield with the Rev. Elton Coleman in charge. Burial will be in the Winsell cemetery five miles south west of Libertyville.
Mrs. Nettie GRIMES, 74, was born Aug. 21, 1884, near Libertyville, the daughter of the late John and Nancy HICKERSON MORRISON. She was united in marriage to Tilman GRIMES on Sept. 13, 1905. They have lived on the same farm 4½ miles northwest of Birmingham for the past 40 years.
Besides her husband she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. James SYFERT, Keosauqua, and Mrs. Homer PARCELL, Brighton; one son, John GRIMES, Richland; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Charles ROBERSON, Sun Valley, Calif., and Mrs. Minnie EMMONS, Battle Creek, Mich.
Mrs. GRIMES was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.
