Clyde MESNER, East Pleasant Plain jeweler who suffered a stroke on the downtown streets of Fairfield Tuesday is reported as slightly improved.

C. M. MESNER DIED SATURDAY AT HOSPITAL
Pleasant Plain resident suffered stroke here on square May 4

Clyde M. MESNER, 58, resident of Pleasant Plain who suffered a stroke on the square here in Fairfield, May 4, passed away at the Jefferson county hospital at 5:00 p.m. Saturday.

Funeral services were held in the Friend's church in Pleasant Plain this afternoon at 2:00 p.m. Burial was in the Walnut cemetery nearby.

Mr. MESNER was born in Minncolo, Nebraska on December 2, 1884 (sic - Dec. 1). He had been a resident of Pleasant Plain for the past 33 years and was a jeweler by trade.

He is survived by one brother, Clayton, of O'Neil, Nebraska; one niece, Elta Rea MESNER, also of O'Neil; and a cousin, Mrs. William TURNER, Fairfield.

Mr. MESNER was in Fairfield on May 4 when he suffered a stroke while walking along the south side of the square. He was immediately taken to the hospital here but never recovered.

The body was taken from the Hoskins funeral home to the church at Pleasant Plain at 1:15 p.m. today.

The funeral services of Clyde MESNER was held Monday at Pleasant Plain, conducted by Rev. Willis and Nora Craven and singing by Mrs. Albert Jones and Mrs. Raymond Pickard. A beautiful floral offering given by his friends, showed the esteem they held for him. Mr. Clayton MESNER from Mt. Ayr, Neb. and Mr. and Mrs. William TURNER of Fairfield were the relatives from a distance who attended.
