Glen "Bud" Byron APPLEMAN Jr. was born Jan. 27, 1928, in Skidmore, Mo., to Glen APPLEMAN Sr. and Lucille FULLERTON APPLEMAN. He attended school in Skidmore and graduated with the high school Class of 1945. Upon graduation, he was united in marriage to Inez NEWTON, and together they had one son, Jack APPLEMAN. The two later divorced. On Nov. 29, 1948, Glen married Shirley Lou HARRIS. This was the first chapter in a story that lasted over 70 years. Together, they became loving parents to three children: Jeannie, Steve and Mike. Glen worked as a truck driver for gasoline transport before taking a job with the pipeline in Maitland, Mo. His career with the pipeline saw him transfer to Crown Point, Ind., and eventually to Birmingham, Iowa, where he would retire in 1983 after many years as a dedicated employee. Glen and Shirley were longtime members of the Fairfield Square Dance Club and co-owners of Appleman's Worm Farm. Glen cared deeply for his family and loved watching it grow with the addition of grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by his family and the many that called him friend.

Glen was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jack APPLEMAN; as well as a grandson and great-grandson.

Left to share his story is his loving wife, Shirley APPLEMAN; one daughter, Jeannie (Marvin) STORY; two sons, Steve (Marsha) APPLEMAN and Mike (Janice) APPLEMAN; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Jean APPLEMAN; as well as many extended family and friends.
