Last Friday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. F. J. DEMARSH, in Perlee, occurred e death of Mrs. Nancy URIE.
Nancy MATTHEWS was born in Trumbull county, Ohio, July 26, 1813. At five years of age she moved to Wayne county with her parents. She was married to David URIE, April 1, 1839, and they took up their residence in Orange, Ashland county, Ohio. In 1853 they moved to Indiana and in 1854 to Jefferson county, Iowa, where they settled permanently. Mr. URIE died in 1874. Mrs. URIE has made her home for the last fourteen years with her daughter, Mrs. F. J. DEMARSH, in Perlee, Iowa. She was the mother of seven children, two of whom died in infancy and another in 1884, aged forty years. One son and three daughters survive to mourn their loss. She united with the Presbyterian church at the age of sixteen and remained a faithful member. The body was taken to Richwood church, accompanied by her children, grand children, great grand children and a host of friends, where the funeral services were conducted by Rev. D. G. Bruce and then laid to rest in the cemetery. Deceased was eighty-one years and three months old.

Editors Ledger:--Mrs. Mary URIE died in Perlee October 26th, aged eighty-one years, three months. Nancy MATTHEWS was born in Trumbull county, Ohio, July 26th, 1813. At five years of age she removed with her parents to Wayne county. She was married to David URIE April 1st, 1830, and they took up their residence in Orange, Ashland county. In 1853 they moved to Indiana, and in 1854 to Jefferson county, Iowa, where they resided until death. Mr. URIE died in 1874. The wife has made her home for fourteen years past with her daughter, Mrs. F. J. DEMARSH, in Perlee. She was the mother of seven children, two of whom died in infancy and another in 1884.
