SANDRA LEE STOUT
Ainsworth

Sandra Lee STOUT, 83, of Ainsworth, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2019, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City (note: in Johnson Co., IA) following a year long battle with cancer.

Celebration of Life services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 20, at the Ainsworth Community Church with Pastor Jason Collier officiating. Calling hours will begin noon Thursday, Dec. 19, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Interment will be held at Oregon Township Cemetery in Ainsworth at a later date (note: in Washington Co., IA).

A memorial has been established for the Ainsworth Community Church. Online condolences may be sent for Sandra's family through the web at www.jonesfh.com.

Sandra was born Aug. 28, 1936, in Batavia, Iowa, the daughter of Kenneth and Wanda (SPESSARD) ORNDUFF. She graduated from Ainsworth High School and from Iowa State College with a degree in Home Economics Education. Sandra married George STOUT, Jr. in 1957, with whom she had three children. They divorced in 1969.

Sandra was a lifelong resident of Ainsworth. She started her career teaching home economics in the Crawfordsville and Washington School Districts, but spent most of her professional life as the home economics teacher and talented and gifted coordinator at Highland Community Schools. While at Highland, Sandra sponsored the Future Problem Solvers (FPS) team and served as an FPS judge at State, Regional and International levels well into her retirement. Many summers, Sandra served as a 4-H judge at county fairs across Eastern Iowa. She was an active member of the Ainsworth Community Church, ACCW, SASHA Club, and Delta Kappa Gamma. Sandra was an avid traveler, exploring many locales across the United States and international destinations such as Japan, Nova Scotia, Ireland, Panama and the United Kingdom.

She is survived by her daughter, Shari STOUT of St. Louis, Mo.; son, Mark STOUT and wife Kara of Letts, Iowa; son, Todd STOUT and wife Shari (BLOOM) of Montclair, N.J.; eight grandchildren, Katerina STOUT, Ryan STOUT and wife Shannon, Trent STOUT and wife Abby, Taylor STOUT, Reed STOUT, Dylin O'DONNELL, Joshua STOUT and Danica STOUT; five great-grandchildren; brother, Ronald ORNDUFF and wife Angie of Ainsworth, Iowa; sister, Jarol "Jan" WATERS and husband Robert of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; and foreign exchange spiritual daughter, Keiko Hirano of Itchikawa, Japan.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents.
