Sixty-Eight Years in Jefferson County.

Jackson J. PARSONS, one of the oldest continuous residents of Jefferson county, died at his home in this city the evening of Thanksgivings day, after a protracted illness. Mr. PARSONS was born in Tucker county, W. Va., March 1st, 1837. He came to this county with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert PARSONS, in 1839, and had lived here without interruption since that time.

He was married here about twenty seven years ago to Ellen RAMSAY, who survives him. They were the parents of two sons, Boyd and Jay, both of whom are living. Mr. PARSONS had lived in the country as a farmer and in the city as a carpenter. He had a wide acquaintance, and there are many friends and relatives who will regret his death The funeral was held Saturday and the body was laid in Union cemetery, near the old town of Parsonsville, where many members of this family have been buried. Rev. T. S. Pool conducted the funeral service.
