CORRESPONDENCE.

Glendale.

WILLIAM LOGSDEN. (sic)

Mr. William LOGSDEN, who had lived in this neighborhood almost sixty years, died Thursday the 28th (sic - 29th) in his 89th year.

Mr. LOGSDEN was born in Ohio, where in 1849 he was married to Miss Hannah RIZOR, but of several children only one, Sarah E., lived to maturity and was married to Isaac MAXWELL. Mrs. LOGSDEN died several years since and also Mr. MAXWELL, so that in his last illness Mr. LOGDEN (sic) was tenderly cared for by his daughter.

Mr. LOGSDEN came to Iowa in 1853 and until the day of his death lived on the same farm which of late years has been kept the home by a grandson John MAXWELL.

Mr. LOGSDEN was in early days a member of the United Brethren church, later of the Methodist church, and in 1871 he with fifty members formed the Free Methodist Society of Coalport, and now of that number only one, Mr. Bryson Mickey, remains..

Funeral services were conducted at Parsonsville church by Rev. Wm. Lute who paid a fitting tribute to Mr. LOGSDEN's high character, and interment was in Union Cemetery.
