John J. LEU, 79, native of Henry County, died at 8:35 p.m. Tuesday at his home in St. Petersburg, Fla. The casket is being shipped to Fairfield for last rites and burial.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. Lenwood Monte officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery east of Fairfield.
John J. LEU was born Sept. 29, 1903, in Henry County. He was the son of Christian O. and Mertie C. JANNINGS LEU. He was reared and educated in Henry County after which he joined the postal service in Chicago.
Later he joined the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Police Dept. from which he retired in 1959 and moved to Florida.
Survivors include four brothers and a sister: Clifford, Walker; Roy, Fairfield; Harvey, Danville; and Ruth RUHL, Santa Barbara, Calif. He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
Memorials may be made to the Heart Fund.
