GARY R. HICKENBOTTOM
Conway Springs, Kan.

Gary R. HICKENBOTTON, 66, of Conway Springs, Kan., formerly of Fairfield, passed away Wednesday, Oct., 16, 2019, at his home.

Per his wishes, he was cremated and there will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.

Gary was born June 5, 1953, in Waterloo, Iowa, and was the son of John and Willa (KEMP) HICKENBOTTOM. He was a graduate of Fairfield High School.

Gary later married the love of his life, Roxanne HUBBARD, on May 27, 1995, in Ottumwa, Iowa, where they resided until being transferred to Conway Springs, Kan., in December of 2004.

Gary worked in construction as a bull dozer operator as a young man, where he owned his own business. He had worked for Garden and Associates Engineers before working as a project coordinator at Norris Asphalt and Paving. He later became project manager for Rockford Construction. After retiring, Gary also co-owned Poodle Palace with his dog loving wife, Roxanne, where they raised purebred and designer breed puppies. This was his pride and joy! He also was daddy to his fur babies. He loved dearly Ruger, Leia, Sophie, Daphne and Gypsy.

Left to share his memory are his loving wife, Roxanne; son, Eric (Joie) HICKENBOTTOM and one daughter, Jamie (Troy) POTHAST, both of West Des Moines; stepdaughter, Michelle (Emmett) STOW of Tonkawa, Okla.; sister, Sue STOVER of Cottage Grove, Wis.; half-sister, Beth WALTERS of Nixon, Tenn.; and nine amazing grandchildren he adored.

Memorials may be directed to his wife.
