James Wayne Andrews, 73, of Chula Vista, Calif., formerly of Milton, died Monday, April 4, 2005, in a Chula Vista hospital.

A celebration of life was April 7 at Raymond Belasques' residence in Chula Vista.

The body was cremated and the cremains were scattered over the Pacific Ocean.

Mr. Andrews was born Sept. 15, 1931, in Milton, the son of E. J. "Jim" and Iowa B. Veatch Andrews. He married Anita Belasques March 9, 1981.

He grew up in Milton and graduated from Milton High School in 1949. He attended Parsons College in Fairfield.

He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.

He was a senior buyer for Rohr Aircraft Manufacturing Company for 28 years. He retired in 1993.

Mr. Andrews was a member of Elks and Moose lodges, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars, all in Chula Vista.

Survivors include his wife; three stepchildren, Michael Morales, Christina Malone and Cynthia Ann Murilla, all of California; one brother, ellis andrews of Keosauqua; and one sister, Betty Vance of Keosauqua.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
