Mrs. Mary Palm Dead

Word was received here last Sunday from California that Mrs. Mary Palm, mother of the late Robert E. Palm had passed from this life. At the time of Judge Palm's death she had been considered in quite good health, but did not feel able to take the long journey here to the funeral. So her daughter, Mrs. Paulson, left her with the grandchildren, and came by herself, little thinking that before her return home her mother would have been brought to Castle Rock to her last resting place.

Mrs. Palm was born December 8, 1828 in Sweden. She came to America in 1849 and was married January 17, 1854, at Fairfield, Jefferson County, Iowa. Mr. and Mrs. Palm came to Colorado in March 1888, her husband dying July 15, 1895. For some time after this she made her home with her son on the ranch. She left for California in December 1909, to spend the remaining years of her life with her daughter. She was the mother of three sons and three daughters; Mrs. Paulson being the only one not to precede her to the grave.

Funeral services were held this afternoon at the Methodist church at one o'clock, Rev. Taylor preaching the sermon. Burial was made in the family lot of the Castle Rock cemetery.
