Elmer "Bud" ADAM, 93, of Richland, died Early Sunday June 23, 2019, at Sunnybrook Living Care Center in Fairfield. Arrangements are pending at Behner Funeral Home in Richland.

Elmer A. (Bud) ADAM, 93, of Richland, died June 23, 2019, at Sunnybrook Living Care Center in Fairfield. Elmer was born on August 3, 1925 to John V. and Theresa M. GREINER ADAM. He lived and farmed his entire life north of Richland, graduating from Richland High School in 1943. He married Helen PACHA at St. Joseph's Church in East Pleasant Plain in 1948. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary together last August.

Elmer was a lifelong member of Mother Cabrini Catholic Church in Richland, helping to build it in 1950. He served on the ASCS Board in Keokuk County for over 25 years, was a Township Trustee for many years, a board member of Cypress Village, and a member of Mother Cabrini Parish Council. He was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus of Harper.

Survivors include his wife Helen; ten sons: Robert (Sandy) of Cincinnati, OH; Fr. Nick of Fairfield; Steve (Mary K.) of Greensburg, IN; James of Iowa City; Andy (Patty) of Richland; Ken (Peggy) of Chanhassen, MN; Fr. Rich of Davenport; Fr. Chuck of Coralville; Paul (Diane) of Iowa City; Chris (Christy) of Maryville, TN; three daughters: Susanne (Garry) DICKEY of Packwood; Mary (Ed) MORALES of Richland; and Teresa (Brian) GREEN of Boone. Sisters: Irene DICKINSON of Fairfield, Bernice VOGEL, Keystone, IA and Elizabeth VOGEL of Hereford, TX; 26 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Leo, and brother Urban in infancy.

Memorials and Mass Intentions may be made to Ss. Joseph and Cabrini Church, P.O. Box 130, Richland, IA 52585.

Family visitation will take place at St. Mary Catholic Church in Fairfield on Thursday, June 27 from 4 - 7 PM. Funeral Mass will be at St. Mary Catholic Church in Fairfield on Friday, June 28th at 11:00 AM with Fathers Nick, Rich, and Chuck ADAM presiding. Gould Funeral Home of Richland is in charge of arrangements.
