FairfieldWilliam H. PARKER, 91, of rural Fairfield, died Monday morning June 3, 2019, at his home. He was born May 8, 1928, in south Moiniteau Township Cooper County, Missouri to Frank Leslie and Mary Jennina BAUGHMAN PARKER. He graduated from Clarksburg Missouri High School in 1946 and married Shirley Ann SCHEIDEL in California, MO May 9, 1952. She died April 10, 2019.
Bill worked as an electrician for Iowa Light and Power Company (now Alliant) servicing and setting up appliances and as a meter reader. He also owned and operated a gas station and his own grocery store and worked for Pierson Plumbing in Fairfield. Bill served in the Iowa Army National Guard and was a member of the Eagles, Elks and VFW in Fairfield, and Richland United Methodist Church and the Methodist Men. He loved to fish and participate in the church bus trips.
Bill is survived by one daughter, Teressa Kay PARKER of Fairfield, and 4 sons: Jerry (Tammy), William, and Timothy PARKER all of Des Moines and Steven PARKER of Fairfield, 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 1 niece and 2 nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, 3 sisters: Della HARRIS, Gracie POTTS and Laura COLE and 4 brothers, Wilson, Raymond, infant brothers, Paul and William PARKER.
A funeral service will be held at 1:30 P.M. Thursday June 6, 2019, at the Richland United Methodist Church with Rev. Tim Schoepf and Pastor Ed Parker officiating. Burial will follow at Richland Friends Cemetery (note: in Keokuk Co., IA). Visitation with the family will be held Wednesday evening 6:30 to 7:30 P.M. at Gould Funeral Home in Richland. Memorials for the Richland United Methodist Church may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 2066 115th Street, Fairfield, Iowa 52556.
