Roger Lee PECK, 62, of Fairfield, IA passed away Monday, May 20, 2019 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics (note: in Iowa City, Johnson Co., IA). His body has been cremated. A memorial service will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at the Living Hope Bible Church in Eldon, IA with Pastor Mark Clark and Pastor Ryan Dexter officiating. The family strongly requests that in Roger's honor, you wear comfortable attire to the service - Hawkeyes, Cubs, or Jimmy Buffett attire are welcome!

A celebration of Roger's life will be held at the VFW in Fairfield from 3:00-6:00 p.m., following the service. Memorial contributions can be directed to the family for a memorial in Roger's honor to be established at a later date. Contributions may be mailed to Diana PECK, 406 North C Street, Fairfield IA, 52556.

Roger was born December 16, 1956 in Cedar Rapids, IA, to art and Rita STALLMAN PECK. The family moved to Fairfield in 1968, where Roger attended Fairfield High School and graduated with the class of 1975.

After graduation, he worked at VanGorp Furniture and the Fairfield Ledger. It was while working at VanGorp Furniture that he met Diana LILES, "the girl next door" at Western Auto. They were married on October 9, 1982 and have spent the last 36 years together, raising two daughters, Cassie and Carrie. Roger also had the privilege of working at other Fairfield businesses including The Stonewall Lounge, Rockwell/Meritor, Books Are Fun, Creative Edge, and most recently Traffix Devices.

Roger was always on the move from sun-up to sun-down. He enjoyed being outside, whether tinkering in his shed, working in the yard, sitting on the deck listening to tunes, or feeding the birds. He spent a good amount of time cheering on the Hawkeyes and Cubs, and harassing his daughters and their husbands about being Iowa State grads while he was a die-hard Hawkeye fan. If something was broken, Roger could fix it - likely with Gorilla Glue or Duct Tape! He also enjoyed traveling with special friends "the Cruise Crew", and especially loved spending time with his five grandkids. Grandpa Roger was the best!

Roger had a loving heart, constantly helping others in need. He was a friend to many and never met a kid who didn't love him. His giving spirit continues on through organ donation.

Left to share his story are his loving wife, Diana PECK of Fairfield; two daughters, Cassie (Brett) TEMPLETON, of Roland, IA, and Carrie (Adam) REBLING, of Brighton, IA; five treasured grandchildren, Madeline and Jackson TEMPLETON, and Maddox, Bennett and Anna REBLING; his parents, Art and Rita PECK, of Fairfield; two sisters, Pat TARRENCE, of Fairfield, and Deb (Richard) TAYLOR, of Fairfield; two brothers, Bill PECK, of Skiatook, OK, and Randy (Shani) PECK, of Litchfield, MN; father-in-law Harold LILES (Emelia WELTCH), of Eldon, IA; several nieces and nephews, and many friends.

Roger was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Carol LILES, and two brothers-in-law, Doug LILES and Rex TARRENCE.

As Roger would say, it's 5 o'clock somewhere!
