Lucinda S., widow of the late John D. GUDGELL, died in this city Saturday afternoon from consumption. She had been in ill health for a year and a half, and confined to her home about four months. Mrs. GUDGELL was in the fifty-ninth year of her age. Her maiden name was HAYWOOD, and she was born in Gambier, Ohio. She had been a resident of Fairfield since early childhood, and was married here to Mr. GUDGELL, who died March 7th (sic - March 26th), 1888. They were the parents of eight children, five of whom survive and are now living in this city--Lewellyn, Lycurgus, Spencer, Fred and Jennie. Mrs. GUDGELL had a wide acquaintance as well as an extensive relationship in the community, and there are many friends who will join with the family in mourning of her loss as that of an excellent woman and a useful member of society. The remains were interred in the Evergreen cemetery Monday afternoon, Rev. H. D. Derry of the Christian church conducting the funeral services.
