Royal Oak, MIBrian Kent PEASLEE of Royal Oak died on March 13th, 2019 from an extremely rare sarcoma. He was 54 years old. He was born on June 30th, 1964, to Bonnie PEASLEE (nee REHDER) and Roland PEASLEE in Fairfield, Iowa.
He is survived by his wife Chestra PEASLEE (nee BECKER) and his children Frank (Jane) PEASLEE, Kent PEASLEE, Irene PEASLEE, Thomas PEASLEE, and Beck PEASLEE. He is also survived by his father Roland PEALSEE and his siblings Alan (Patricia) PEASLEE, Jay (Kirsten) PEASLEE, and Dian (Jerry) CARMODY. Brian was preceded... in death by his beloved mother Bonnie PEASLEE (nee REHDER).
During his time at Washington University in St. Louis, he chased the heart of Chestra, the love of his life. After many trips to Ted Drewes, dates to the movie theater, and time spent cheering on Chestra at her basketball and volleyball games, they tied the knot on August 15th, 1987. The wedding took place in front of friends and family at St. Edmund Catholic Church in Oak Park, Illinois.
Together with Chestra, his greatest joy was having the opportunity to watch his children grow up and succeed. Brian was always present for his children's events, often heard with his booming voice on the bleachers or seen on the sidelines photographing and capturing many amazing moments.
His many hobbies and interests included fishing, running, giving back to the community, spending time in his workshop and garage, and traveling to 49 states and countless countries. He took great pride in being a member and president of the Shrine's Dad's Club, member and leader of the Boy Scouts (Troops 64, 1615, and 1634), officer and director in the 218th EIS Missouri Air National Guard, and member and president of the Detroit branch of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), to name a few.
His career included time at McDonnell Douglas, Ford, Visteon, Ballard, Magna, and GM. His final job was with General Motors as one of ten supervision managers. His responsibility was for the Electric Vehicle Division of General Motors. His numerous career accomplishments and recognitions include successfully launching the STS-48 (UARS satellite) for NASA, receiving recognition for the first production of an electric vehicle at Ford, being a PACE Award Finalist, being awarded USAF Meritorius Service & Humanitarian medals, and presenting in front of the Department of Energy.
He was deeply loved and will be missed by all who knew him during his amazing journey.
Friends and family visited Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Road on Saturday and Sunday, March 16th and 17th, 2-7pm, concluding with a rosary service each day. A Funeral Mass was celebrated at the National Shrine of the Little Flower Basilica, 2100 12 Mile Road on Monday, March 18th at 12pm noon.
Brian will be laid to rest at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri.
Memorials may be made to Shrine Church, Shrine High School, or a charity of the donor's choice, via his father, Dr. Roland PEASLEE, 506 South B Street, Fairfield, Iowa 52556.
