Jonda Rose REED CONKEL, 88, of Burlington died Sunday, March 17, 2019 at the Great River Klein Center in West Burlington (note: in Des Moines Co., IA).

Born September 19, 1930 in Truro, Iowa, she was the daughter of Oscar E. and Edith (HELTON) REED. She married WILLIAM S J CONKEL on October 13, 1950 in Leon, Iowa. He died January 28, 2018.

Jonda was a 1948 graduate of Leon High School and attended Graceland College in Lamoni, Iowa obtaining her teaching certificate in 1950. She taught at Scott school and worked at various service related positions, IRC, was the owner and operator of Conkel Realty and Auction and Olde Shoppe Antiques.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, the Burlington Board of Realtors, the Questers and a past member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include her four children; William B. (Linda) CONKEL, Genila (Gary) WOLGEMUTH, Renita J. BLOYD and Desiree (Joe Freeman) REGNIER; ten grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; her extended family at Kleins; one niece; one nephew; her lifetime best friend Carma Leta Schoch; her beloved dog Dach and her sisters in Questers.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 67 years, William, two brothers, three sisters, her parents, son in law Bill REGNIER and numerous other beloved family members.

There will be no formal funeral services for Mrs. CONKEL. According to her wishes, cremation has been entrusted to the care of Lunning Chapel.
