Death Comes To H. HECKETHORN

Funeral services will be at the Free Methodist church Thursday at 1:30 p.m. for Henry Herbert HECKETHORN, retired farmer of Jefferson and Wapello counties.

The services will be in charge of the Rev. Charles Kerestly and burial will be in the Wright cemetery southeast of Fairfield.

HECKETHORN died Monday at 2:45 p.m. at the Sunnyslope Sanitarium Ottumwa (note: in Wapello Co., IA). He had been in failing health for the past several years.

Henry Herbert HECKETHORN, 89, was born in Jefferson county on Sept. 3, 1873, the son of Worth and Rachel HALL HECKETHORN. He farmed in both Jefferson and Wapello county before his retirement.

He was married to Blanche Dell SIMMONS on July 13, 1903. She died Jan. 23, 1953. He was also preceded in death by one son, Carl, who died in 1949.

Surviving are four sons, Raymond and Harold, both of Ottumwa; and Mervin and Vern, both of Fairfield; one daughter, Mrs. Dorothy WRENN (sic - WREN), Danville, Ill.; 31 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

The body is at the Community Funeral home in Ottumwa.
