Ruby Iola WRIGHT BRISTOW, age 97, of Indianapolis, Indiana, former resident of Jefferson County, died Sunday, March 13, 2005, at her home in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Born December 12, 1907 near Wooster, Jefferson County, she was the daughter of Henry Clay and Dora Elizabeth MARDOCK WRIGHT. She grew up in the Wooster area, and attended school in the Peach Blossom schoolhouse. She attended high school in Ottumwa and the Watson Commercial School in Fairfield.
She was an employee of the Eclipse Lumber Company in Fairfield for 8 years and later was secretary to J.F.T. (Ted) Saur, principal of Fairfield High School, from 1937 until 1942. (She turned in the fire alarm when the high school burned in 1938.)
In 1942 she was married to William R. BRISTOW.
Ruby was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Fairfield, Lionels and the Writer's Club.
Deceased family include her husband, who died on April 14, 1979, her parents and 1 brother Rex Raymond WRIGHT (who died in the Battle of the Bulge in World War II, and was buried in St. Avoid Cemetery in France.)
Surviving are her daughter Brenda L. TAYLOR STORMS and husband Howard STORMS of Indianapolis, Indiana; surviving grandchildren include Robin HUTCHESON, Lisa TAYLOR, Shaun TAYLOR, Jayme TAYLOR, Casey WILCOX, Dallas STORMS and Paden STORMS. Surviving great grandchildren include Morgan HUTCHESON, Brooklyn HUTCHESON, Brendon TAYLOR and Madison TAYLOR.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday, March 18th at the First United Methodist Church in Fairfield with Pastor David Peterson officiating.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Fairfield or to Hospice Services at Community VNA in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.
Arrangements are in the care of the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.
