Monday, March 14, 2005Brian Scott BEST, 39, of 304 W. Briggs Ave., Fairfield, Iowa, died at 1:09 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2005, at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield, Iowa.
He was born November 29, 1965, in Fairfield, Iowa, the son of Tommie BEST and Deanna ZILLMAN.
Brian lived most of his life in Fairfield, graduating from Fairfield High School in the class of 1984. Brian continued his education, receiving a B.S. degree in finance/business from the University of Iowa in 1989. While attending college, he worked at Chappell Studio in Fairfield, Iowa. Brian was employed by New York Life Insurance as an agent for the past 16 years. Brian was a member of Centurion, Executive Council, Quality Council, and MDRT.
Brian was a member of numerous clubs and held many positions. He was past president and member of Walton Club Board, Fairfield Bowling Association, Elks Lodge #1192, V.F.W. #2271, and Eagles Lodge #1927. Brian was a member of the First Christian Church. His hobbies included golf, bowling, NASCAR racing and he was a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, the St. Louis Cardinals and the Iowa Hawkeyes.
He is survived by: his two daughters, Brittany and Kelsey BEST and their mother, Theresa BEST, of Waukee, Iowa, parents Tommie BEST & wife, Connie of Altoona, Iowa, and his mother, Deanna ZILLMAN of Fairfield, Iowa; 1 brother and 1 sister, Joni & husband, Joe STEVER of Fairfield, Iowa, and Michael & wife, Rhonda BEST of Keosauqua, Iowa; grandparents Howard and Marcelle LUCAS of Fairfield, Iowa, and Bob and Lorraine MICHELSON of Mission, Texas; nieces and nephews, Tanner SCHAFER, Grace STEVER, Chloe STEVER, Sophie STEVER and Zoe BEST.
He was preceded in death by grandparents Floyd & Grace BEST, and step-father Donnie ZILLMAN.
Funeral services for Brian S. BEST will be at 10:30 AM Tuesday, March 15, 2005, at the First Christian (Disciples of Christ) Church with Rev. Kurt Makower officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield, Iowa.
Family visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday, March 14, 2005, at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, Iowa.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials for Brian's daughters, or the Walton Club memorial in Brian's name.
