MAHON FUNERAL THIS AFTERNOON

The funeral services of John Mahon were held this afternoon at two o’clock at the home on West Washington street, and were conducted by Dr. C. P. Foreman.

John Mahon was born August 4, 1823, in County Antrim, Ireland, being the son of Francis and Jean Martin Mahon. He was married Nov. 12th, 1853, to Jean Gilbert. The mother died September 2, 1905.

He moved to Fairfield from Pittsburg, Pa., in 1840, and was married here.

To this union nine children were born, six daughters and three sons. Jennie the oldest, wife of J. H. Charles, died May 7th, 1895. Ralph resides at Denver, Colorado, Lee at Stockport, and Emily, Mrs. J. A. Strubel, at Detroit, Michigan. The others reside in and about Fairfield.
