MRS. M’WHIRTER DIED SUDDENLY
Suffered Stroke Early Today; Arrangements Incomplete

Mrs. Hattie L. McWHIRTER, wife of William McWHIRTER, 201 South Maple Street, died suddenly at noon today in the Jefferson county hospital. She suffered a stroke early this morning and was taken to the hospital where she lived but a few hours. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time.

Hattie L. MONFORT was born in Fairfield December 3, 1866, the daughter of P. H. and Nancy HARBORT MONFORT. She has spent her entire life in this community. She was married to William McWHIRTER, Dec. 1, 1920. They resided on the McWHIRTER farm southeast of Fairfield for two years and then moved to Fairfield where they resided at 201 South Maple street.

She is survived by her husband and four step children, Mrs. Ralph KANN, Mrs. Harry KANN, H. L. McWHIRTER, all of Fairfield and Eva Mae McWHIRTER, a student nurse at Oskaloosa, Iowa. She also leaves two brothers, P. H. MONFORT and Ed MONFORT. Three sisters, Laura and Jessie MONFORT, and Stella FISHER, have preceded her in death.

McWHIRTER FUNERAL 2 O'CLOCK FRIDAY AT FUNERAL HOME

Funeral services for Mrs. William McWHIRTER, who passed away yesterday noon at the Jefferson county hospital will be held tomorrow afternoon at two o'clock from the Hoskins Funeral Home in charge of Dr. Gilbert Voorhies. Interment will take place in the Wright cemetery southeast of Fairfield.
