Death of Mrs. Peter C. Monfort
Last Saturday night at nine o’clock Mrs. P. C. Monfort passed away at her home in the northeastern part of the city. She had been ill for a little more than two weeks with pneumonia, re-sulting from an attack of grip. Mrs. Monfort was well known in this city and county and her husband and children have the sympathy of many friends.
Mrs. Monfort’s maiden name was Nancy Harbert and she was born in Allen county, Ohio, on June 5, 1839. She grew to womanhood in Allen county and was married there in 1857 to Peter C. Monfort. Seven children were born to them, of whom three daughters are dead. Those living are Estella and Hattie, who are at home, and Ed and Perry, both of this county.
Nine years after her marriage, in 1866, they moved from Ohio to Fair-field and resided for five years and then moved to a farm near Wooster, this county. Six years ago they returned to this city and since then have made this their home.
The funeral was held at the residence Monday afternoon at two o’clock, Rev. A. F. Marsh conducted the services.
