POLIS rites set Friday

Thomas POLIS, 98, died at 1:30 a.m. today at Parkview Care Center. He was a retired farmer and a former resident of the Brighton community.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 9 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church with the Rev. Karl Holtkamp as celebrant. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery at Brighton.

Prayers for a Christian Wake will be received Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Raymond Funeral Home.

POLIS was born May 6, 1880 in Buchanan County, the son of Michael and Magdalene BARTOL POLIS (sic - POLUS). He was married Feb. 14, 1905 to Charlotte VOGEL. She preceded him in death in 1927. One son is also deceased.

POLIS was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. He is survived by one daughter, Dorothy BROWN, Baker, Ore., and one brother, I. A. POLIS, Mitchell, S.D.
