Esther PECK

BRIGHTON -- Esther PECK, 80, of rural Brighton, died Wednesday, Oct. 5, 1994, at Nelson Nursing Home in Fairfield.

With full permission from the Rev. William E. Franklin, newly installed bishop of the Davenport Diocese, all services will be at the Polishville Community Center, approximately five miles south of Brighton. The funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. David Brownfield officiating. Burial will be in Polishville Cemetery. All relatives and friends are invited to attend a dinner following the service. Open visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Friday. Prayers for a Christian wake will be at 7:30 that evening. Memorials have been established to Masses, Polishville Association Inc., and Polishville Cemetery Association. Gould Funeral Home in Brighton is in charge of arrangements.

Miss PECK was born Nov. 29, 1913, in Pleasant Plain, the daughter of Frank and Bertha DRISH PECK. She graduated from Pleasant Plain High School, American Institute of Business in Des Moines, and attended Drake University in Des Moines. She taught school for three years at Burr Oak Rural School, and worked as secretary to the president of Morris Plan in Des Moines. She returned to Brighton in 1942. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in East Pleasant Plain and an active member of the Polishville Association Inc.

She is survived by cousins. A brother, David, and a sister, Alice, preceded her in death.
