DEATH CLAIMS CHARLES PECK

BRIGHTON, Ia., April 12 -- Charles PECK, 74, well known Jefferson county farmer who resides seven miles south of Brighton, passed away last night about midnight. He had been in failing health for several months and seriously ill since Wednesday.

Last rites will be Wednesday morning at the Polishville Catholic church south of Brighton with Rev. Father Budreau of East Pleasant Plain in charge. Burial will be in the cemetery nearby (sic - St. Mary Catholic Cemetery).

Charles PECK was born November 10, 1873, south of East Pleasant Plain, the son of the late Jospeh (sic) and Johanna MOLLIS PECK. He was united in marriage February 15, 1898, to Lucy LISK, who survives. The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary last February.

Mr. PECK had spent his entire life in Jefferson county and was well known in the Brighton and Pleasant Plain communities.

Besides his wife, he is survived by the following children: Anthony PECK, Fairfield; Mrs. Raymond FRITZ and Richard PECK, near Brighton; Benjamin PECK, Keota; Mrs. Victor DEUTSCH, East Pleasant Plain. He is also survived by 30 grandchildren, five great grandchildren; one brother, Adam PECK, East Pleasant Plain; a sister, Elizabeth PECK, Fairfield.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Edward LEDGER, and a son, Ralph.
