Funeral Will Be Monday for Anthony SOBASKI

BRIGHTON, Ia. -- Anthony P. SOBASKI, 73, well known resident of the Brighton community, died at 8 a.m. this morning at his home west of Brighton. His death was caused by a heart attack. He had been in poor health for the past 11 years.

Last rites will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the St. Joseph Catholic church at East Pleasant Plain with the Rev. Henry B. Geers in charge. Burial will be in the St. Joseph cemetery.

The Rosary will be recited at the Gould funeral home in Brighton at 8 p.m. Sunday.

Anthony P. SOBASKI was born May 13, 1891, in Jefferson county, the son of Peter and Mary Ann GOZDZIOLA (sic - GOZDZIELA) SOBASKI. He was reared and educated in Jefferson county, and was married to Helene BECHEN on Jan. 10, 1916, in Platte, S.D.

SOBASKI spent practically all of his life in Jefferson and Washington counties, he was a retired farmer and a member of the St. Joseph church at East Pleasant Plain.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Robert SOBASKI, Richland; Richard SOBASKI, Brighton; and Mrs. Evelyn ADAM, Richland; along with 14 grandchildren.

Other survivors include two brothers, Sylvester, Brighton; Walter, Chicago; and three sisters, Mrs. Helen LEON and Mrs. Rose IMBER, both of Chicago; and Mrs. Josephine BENDA, Pleasant Plain; also a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
