Denver Lee OSTRANDER, 87, of R.R. #1, Hedrick, Iowa died at 3:05pm Sept 1st, 2018, at Good Samaritan Center in Ottumwa, IA (note: in Wapello Co., IA). Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at the Cranston Family Funeral Chapel in Batavia, IA with Pastor Mark Clark officiating. Burial will be held in the Batavia Cemetery immediately following the service. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at the Cranston Family Funeral Chapel in Batavia with the family present to greet friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. A Masonic Service will begin at 4:30 p.m. Memorial contributions in Denver's honor may be directed to the Eldon Senior Meals or to Good Samaritan Care Center in Ottumwa. Denver Lee OSTRANDER was born December 27, 1930 at his home, just two miles from his long-time farm residence. He was the son of Arthur and Winnie OSTRANDER. He married Willa Mae PARKER, Feb 4, 1950, in Batavia, Iowa. Denver was a 1948 graduate of Batavia High School, where he excelled at sports and carpentry. He worked for Harper and McIntire and John Morrell in Ottumwa and build (sic) houses before farming full time. Denver and Willa Mae farmed since 1963 on the family farm. He was a proud member of Kilwinning 198 Masonic Lodge in Batavia. He loved collecting antiques, especially banks.

Denver was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, Willa Mae and two brothers, Ronnie and Gene OSTRANDER.

Surviving are his four children, Norma THARP, of Columbia, Mo., Dennis OSTRANDER (Peggy) of Burlington, Iowa, Nancy McCLURE (Bruce) of Agency, Iowa, and Doug OSTRANDER (Marcy) of Waukee, Iowa, six grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren.
