Page 8, Column 7MRS. JOHNSON DIES AT HOME
Mrs. Nicholos (sic) H. JOHNSON, 82, native of Sweden, died early this morning at her home two miles northeast of Four Corners. Her death came at 12:30 a.m. after a serious illness of six months. She had been in failing health the past six years.
Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Baptist church in Lockridge with Rev. S. P. Williamson and Rev. Green of Lockridge officiating. Burial will be in the New Sweden cemetery at Four Corners. The service will be in charge of the Hoskins funeral home.
Amanda PEARSON JOHNSON was born November 4, 1864, in Sweden, the daughter of the late Swan and Gertrude PEARSON. She came to this country in 1883 and married Nicholos H. JOHNSON on April 27, 1886, at St. James, Minnesota. She had lived in the Lockridge community since 1890 and on the same farm 45 years.
Mr. and Mrs. JOHNSON observed their 61st wedding anniversary at their home last Sunday, April 27.
Mrs. JOHNSON is survived by her husband and the following six children: Mrs. Emma VORHIES, Frank, Clara and George, all of Lockridge; Mrs. Ella BOOS, Hedrick; and Mrs. Esther TURNER, Burlington. Eighteen grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by one son.
