Mrs. PFEIFER Dies In Rubio; Was 79

Mrs. W. J. PFEIFER, 79, died Monday evening at 7:30 o'clock in her home at Rubio (note: in Washington Co., IA). She had been an invalid for 6 years. Although she had been seriously ill for the past six months, her death came unexpectedly.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock in the valley Evangelical and Reformed church, of which she was a member. Rev. Milo J. Phillipi will be in charge of the service.

The body of the deceased will be returned to her home in Rubio Wednesday morning from the Sherman funeral home in Washington. Interment will be in the White Oak cemetery (sic - Oak Ridge Cemetery).

Amelia FRANK PFEIFER was born June 7, 1868 in Valley, the daughter of George and Margaret (TRIEBLE) FRANK. She was reared and educated in the Valley community and was married there January 3, 1897 to Wendell J. PFEIFER. She had lived her entire life in Valley, except five years near Talleyrand until she moved to Rubio in 1944. She was an active member of the Valley Ladies Aid of the St. Pauls Evangelical and Reformed church.

Survivors include her husband; three sons, Otto of Richland, Clark of Ainsworth, and Doyle of Washington; three daughters, Mrs. Frances FELTZ, Valley, Mrs. C. J. ZEAR, Ottumwa, and Mrs. T. G. HOTLE, Columbus Junction; 13 grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. J. E. DEAL of Valley. One daughter, Nellie, preceded her in death.
