PEIFFER Rites Will Be Friday

Mrs. Gertrude PEIFFER, 500 W. Broadway, died at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Jefferson County Hospital where she had been a patient since Jan. 25.

Services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church with Father Walter Helms officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in East Pleasant Plain.

Prayers for a Christian Wake will be recited at the Raymond Funeral Home at 8:30 p.m. Thursday.

Gertrude PEIFFER, 77, was born March 15, 1892 at Brighton, the daughter of Adam and Martha DRISH KASOWSKY. She was reared and educated in the Brighton Community and graduated from Fairfield High School in 1910.

She was married to Vincent M. PEIFFER April 21, 1914, at East Pleasant Plain. He passed away May 22, 1959.

Mrs. PEIFFER was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Altar and Rosary Society and lived most of her life in the Brighton and Clay Communities before moving to Fairfield in 1956.

Survivors include one son, Richard, Grand Rapids, Mich.; one daughter, Mrs. Ernest FINK, Packwood; four granddaughters; two sisters, Mrs. Charles SMITH, Fairfield, and Mrs. Royal KING, Delray Beach, Fla.; and a brother, Hubert KASOWSKY of Ottumwa.
