Maynerd (sic) PECK Taken In Death

BRIGHTON -- Maynerd R. PECK, Brighton, died Sunday at the Veterans Hospital in Iowa City (note: in Johnson Co., IA) where he had been a patient for the past week. He had been in failing health the past ten months.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in East Pleasant Plain with Father Francis Bass officiating. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery. The body is at the Gould Funeral Home in Brighton.

Maynerd PECK was born Sept. 18, 1944, the son of Paul and Rosie PECK. He was married April 17, 1941, to Mary LAMANSKY who survives.

They are the parents of eight children: Tom, Jerry and Michael, all of Miami, Fla.; Richard, Dixon, Ill; Paul, Francis, Tony and Mary Rita, all at home. There are five grandchildren.

He is also survived by his mother and the following brothers and sisters: Vincent and Mrs. Sam ARMETTA, Rock Island, Ill.; Robert, Indianapolis, Ind.; Mrs. Roy LAMANSKY and Mrs. Charles DRISH, Brighton; Joseph and William of East Pleasant Plain; and Mrs. Lester FORBES, Fairfield.

PECK served in the Armed Forces in the Philippines during World War II.

Maynard R. PECK dies; at Iowa City hospital

BRIGHTON -- Maynard R. PECK died Sunday afternoon, June 25, 1972, at the VA Hospital in Iowa City where he had been a patient the past week. He had been in ill health for some time.

The funeral will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph's Catholic church at East Pleasant Plain, with the Rev. Francis Bass in charge. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. The Rosary will be Tuesday at 8 p.m. in Gould Funeral Home at Brighton.

Mr. PECK was born Sept. 18, 1914, in Brighton a son of Paul and Rosa KREGOSKI PECK. He married Mary LAMANSKY April 17, 1941, and had been a carpenter by trade. He was a veteran of World War II.

Surviving are his wife; seven sons: Thomas, Jerry and Michael of Miami, Fla., Richard of Dixon, Ill., Paul, Francis and Tony at home; one daughter, Mary Rita at home; five grandchildren.

Also surviving are his mother, Mrs. Rosa PECK of East Pleasant Plain; four brothers: Vincent of Rock Island, Robert of Indianapolis, Joseph and William of East Pleasant Plain; four sisters: Mrs. Roy (Kasylda) LAMANSKY and Mrs. Charles (Adeline) DRISH, both of Brighton, Mrs. Lester (Louise) FORBES of Fairfield, and Mrs. Sam (Lorene) ARMETTA of Rock Island.
