OttumwaJoseph "Joe" V. HAUPERT, 92, died August 17, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Society-Ottumwa where he resided for the past two years.
He was born August 10, 1926 in Ottumwa, IA to Nicholas and Mary Marie WAGNER HAUPERT. He married Margaret BROWN on August 26, 1958. She preceded him in death on January 26, 2009.
Joe served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He was a long-time businessman in the Ottumwa area.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews; a special friend, Jeannie Miller and her family.
He was preceded in death by seven sisters, Marie WHITE, Christine MEYERS, Lucille KEMPENAR, Evelyne LEE, Marguerite PETERSEN ANDERSON, Gertrude BURDICK, Betty DOUD and a brother Donald HAUPERT.
Visitation will be Wednesday at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa with the family present from noon until 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Funeral mass will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mary of the Visitation with Fr. James Bentzen C.PP.S. presiding. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery (note: in Wapello Co., IA).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Good Samaritan Society - Ottumwa Rehab Wing. or Albia Care Initiatives Hospice.
