G. DEAN CLINGAN
Hedrick

G. Dean CLINGAN, of Hedrick, died August 14, 2018 at Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield. Dean was born March 25, 1927 in rural Keokuk County at Ollie, IA to George Alvin and Gladys Mae BOTTGER CLINGAN. Dean was a life long farmer involved with all species of livestock production as well as hay and row crops.

He was especially fond of raising hogs. He attended rural schools in Keokuk and Jefferson counties, and was a long time member of Farm Bureau. Good animal husbandry and soil conservation was his mainstay. He was previously married to Evelyn LAWSON CLINGAN and they raised 4 children in rural Hedrick. She died April 3, 2018.

Left to share his memories are: Son, Roger (Mary Jo) CLINGAN, Batavia; Granddaughter, Dawn (Matt) BUTZER; Great Grandchildren, Barrett, Beau; Son, Chris (Karen) CLINGAN, Fairfield; Great-Grandchildren, Nile, Riley, Leah; Grandson, Ryan CLINGA (sic); Granddaughter, Chrissy (Erreth) HUNTER, Great Grandchildren, Kyra, Dylan, Trey, Benjamin, Liam, Oliver; Daughter, Rhonda BAIRD, Fairfield; Granddaughter, Shawna (Ryan) PORTER; Great Grandchildren, Luke, Katie, Nick; Granddaughter, Shayla Rae; Great-Grandchild, Elin Evelyn; Brother, Dale (Jackie) CLINGAN, Iowa City; Sister, Arlene BESS, Davenport; Sisters-in-law, Sandra CLINGAN, Fairfield and Joan CLINGAN, Derby, KS; Many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his son, Wayne Alden CLINGAN, two grandchildren, Christopher and Natalie CLINGAN; 3 brothers, Charles CLINGAN, Omer (Patricia) CLINGAN, Franklin CLINGAN and 2 sisters, Betty (Kenneth) COFFIN and Maxine (Claude) RANDALL.

The Family would like to express thanks and gratitude to Sunnybrook Living Care Center, Jefferson County Health Center, Good Samaritan Hospice and Dr. Michael Schleicher for the wonderful care given to Dean.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Reece Funeral Home with Pastors Danny Cary and Phil Campbell officiating. Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery. Visitation begins at 11 a.m. Sunday with the family present from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.

Memorials may be directed to Good Samaritan Hospice, 1111 N. Quincy Ave., Suite 127, Ottumwa, IA 52501.
