Charles L. HAHN Dies: Father of Soldier at Bowie

Funeral services for Charles L. HAHN, 60 years old, who died Sunday evening, will be held at 9:30 Wednesday morning at St. Joseph's Catholic church at East Pleasant Plain, in charge of the pastor, Rev. Paul Witzstein (sic - Wetzstein). Burial will be in St. Joseph's cemetery.

The body was brought to Sherman's funeral home last night and will be returned to the home near East Pleasant Plain this evening.

Mr. HAHN died Sunday evening at six o'clock at his home a half mile north of East Pleasant Plain. He had been in failing health for the last five years and bedfast for the eight months preceding his death.

Charles Louis HAHN was born May 27, 1881, in Lee county, Iowa, a son of Fred HAHN and Barbara HEIFER HAHN. He was reared in Lee county and then moved to Riverside and from there to Washington. He was employed here for a number of years as a lineman by the telephone company. Seventeen years ago the family moved from Washington to the present home near East Pleasant Plain.

He was a member of St. Joseph's church and the Holy Name society of that church.

He was married June 12, 1912, to Agnes KASKA of St. Joseph's church and is survived by his wife, one daughter and for (sic) sons. One of the sons, Private Kenneth HAHN, is a member of Troop D, Washington's unit of the 113th Cavalry at Camp Bowie, Texas. The other children, all at home, are Bertille, Ardell, Dale and Harold MAHN (sic - HAHN), all at home.

There are also two brothers, Clyde HAHN of North Liberty and Fred of Cedar Rapids, and two half-brothers, Martin KERN of Washington and August KERN of Riverside.
