PLEASANT PLAIN -- Gertrude Elizabeth FRITZ, 91, died Monday at Washington Care Center (note: in Washington Co., IA), where she had been a patient since September, 1983.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in East Pleasant Plain with the Rev. Robert Busher officiating. The Rosary will be recited at the church at 7:30 tonight. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. A memorial will be established. Gould Funeral Home in Brighton is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. FRITZ was born Aug. 6, 1893 south of Brighton, the daughter of William and Elizabeth FRANZEN ARNDT. She married Michael E. FRITZ in East Pleasant Plain on May 29, 1917.
Surviving are five sons, Robert, Walter, John and Sylvester, all of Brighton, Cletus of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; three daughters, Alice REDLINGER, Marian REDLINGER, both of Harper, Loretta SCHNEIDER of Washington; 43 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Anna, Mary and Margaret ARNDT, all of Brighton, Matilda MURRAIN of Liberty, Mo., Cecilia MILLANE of Fairfield, and one brother, Tony ARNDT of Fairfield.
Her husband, an infant son, two grandchildren, three brothers and one sister preceded her in death.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society. She lived all her life in the Pleasant Plain area.
