Martin G. FRITZ, 86, Dies Thursday Night

Martin George FRITZ, 86, of 609 North Avenue B died at 10:30 p.m. Thursday after a serious illness of two months. He had been failing in health for several years.

Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Monday, Nov. 22, in St. James Catholic church. Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in Sherman's funeral home. Burial will be in St. Joseph's cemetery at East Pleasant Plain.

Mr. FRITZ was born Oct. 3, 1868 in Jefferson county. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter FRITZ and was reared and educated in the Pleasant Plain community.

On April 14, 1896 he was married to Ella FOLEY.

Mr. FRITZ was a member of St. James Catholic church and a farmer by trade. He had lived in Washington since 1944.

Mrs. FRITZ died April 10, 1945. Survivors include two sons, Ray of Washington and Francis of Lake City, Iowa" (sic) six daughters: Mrs. Harry MILLER, Mrs. Earl CHANCE, and Mrs. Wilbur RICHARDSON of Washington, Mrs. Paul DVORSKY of Riverside, Catherine FRITZ of Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. Fred JONES of Milan, Ill.; 30 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; one brother, Joe of National City, Calif.; one half brother, Ed of Mason City; two half sisters: Mrs. Joseph KURTZ and Emma FRITZ, both of East Pleasant Plain.
